Take in the Views at Looking Glass Rock in Moab!
Looking Glass Arch is one of the most unique and fun climbing adventures around Moab. Rising from the open desert south of town, this massive sandstone dome hides a spectacular amphitheater and arch carved into the heart of the rock.
The climb follows a three-pitch route up the gently angled sandstone dome, offering beautiful views of the surrounding desert and the La Sal Mountains in the distance. The climbing is approachable and engaging, making it a great introduction to multi-pitch climbing while still feeling like a real summit adventure.
After reaching the top, the real excitement begins. The descent involves a thrilling free-hanging rappel through the arch itself, dropping into the enormous amphitheater below—one of the most memorable rappels in the Moab area.
With its unique geology, spectacular rappel, and approachable climbing, Looking Glass Arch is one of the most popular climbing adventures in the Moab desert.
