Canyoneer in the adventurous Bow & Arrow Canyon in Moab, Utah
First discovered and permitted by Moab Canyon Tours, Bow & Arrow Canyon has quickly become one of the most popular canyoneering routes in the Moab area. Located just 10 minutes from downtown Moab, this exciting half-day adventure packs a lot of action into a relatively short outing.
The trip begins with a scenic one-mile hike gradually climbing above the Colorado River corridor. Along the way you’ll pass impressive petroglyph panels and even fossilized dinosaur tracks preserved in the sandstone. At the high point of the route, the canyon opens up and the real adventure begins.
From here the route descends through the canyon via four rappels measuring approximately 25 ft, 110 ft, 60 ft, and 90 ft. The second rappel is the highlight—a thrilling 110-foot free-hanging drop where you’ll rappel almost entirely through open air.
Bow & Arrow is a great choice for adventurous beginners, families, and anyone wanting to experience multiple rappels in a short amount of time. If the exposure of the 110-foot rappel feels like more than you’re looking for, we can bypass it and continue with three exciting rappels of 25 ft, 60 ft, and 90 ft.
With beautiful desert scenery, fascinating cultural history, and several fun rappels, Bow & Arrow Canyon is an exhilarating introduction to canyoneering in Moab.
